Jane Doe v. Jim Jones
Joseph Barbknecht was able to get grandparent visitation rights despite a difficult, up-hill battle. The court ordered visitation just in time for grandmother to spend the holiday season with her granddaughter.

Rhodes v. Honda
Judge Beacom in Hunt County, Texas, granted Defendants' Joint Motion for Death Penalty Sanctions Against Plaintiffs, dismissing all claims against our clients the Espino family and Mr. Mickey Money. When Plaintiffs failed to comply with discovery orders, Joseph Barbknecht and Chris Norris successfully fought hard to convince the court to dismiss the case against their clients.

Alba- Cruz v. Philip E. Cobb
After receiving this case several months into the litigation, Joseph Barbknecht and Lauren Russell were able to convince plaintiffs to dismiss with prejudice Defendant Phillip E. Cobb and his interests from this very serious case where a woman was severely beaten and rapped and left to die on Mr. Cobb’s commercial real estate premise liability case.

Debenport v. Brown
Joseph Barbknecht and Chris Norris received a very favorable jury verdict pay nothing in this negligence survival action. The Barbknecht Firm represented the exterminator Keith Brown currently incarcerated in the Texas prison system. Due to the outstanding advocacy skills of Mr. Barbknecht and Mr. Norris, the jury awarded a pay nothing verdict. The case involved severe injuries to a 90+ year old woman in a nursing home.

Goodwin v. Goodwin
In this wrongful death action, Joseph Barbknecht and Chris Norris defended a well respected member of the Ennis community. Through their outstanding advocacy, they were able to receive a pay nothing jury verdict on behalf of their client. The firm’s clients were the grandparents of a young man who took a handgun from his grandparent’s home without their consent, went to school, took at gun point his teacher and a class room full of students. He later, while surrounded by police, took his own life.

Victory in Motion to Transfer Venue in Rhodes v. Honda, et. al.

Joseph Barbknecht obtains a victory in transferring the case from Plaintiff’s selected jurisdiction to the Defendants’ requested jurisdiction.

Summary Judgment! – Dallas County

Joseph Barbknecht and Marty Rogers obtained a complete summary judgment in an extremely large defamation case involving racing and allegations of defamation against their client which allegedly resulted in financial damages and expulsion of the Plaintiff from a professional racing association.

Trial Victory! – Collin County

Joseph Barbknecht and Chris Norris obtained a defense verdict in a premises liability case where a daughter and son-in-law were accused of causing the death of the Plaintiff’s husband at their premises through acts and/or omissions. The jury verdict was a unanimous 12 - 0 in Collin County.

Trial Victory! – Dallas County

Joseph Barbknecht and Marty Rogers obtained a defense verdict in an apartment complex premises liability case where the security company was alleged to have been negligent in the provision of it’s security services wherein a tenant was shot 11 times and killed.

Trial Victory! – Dallas County

Joseph Barbknecht and Chris Norris obtained a jury verdict in a very large premises liability case where the apartment complex was accused of being negligent in providing security which led to the shooting and loss of limb of the tenant.

MSJ Granted

Kimberly Munson obtained a summary judgment for a defendant in a "broken house" case accused of failing to disclose alleged defects in a home prior to the sale.

Trial Victory!

Kimberly Munson tried a case to a jury in the district court of Marion County, Texas and obtained a victory for our client Northland Insurance Company. The case involved a collision between two 18 wheelers.
Employer Prevails.
Kimberly Munson obtained a complete nonsuit of discrimination/retaliation and wrongful termination claims filed against a non-subscriber employer.
High Steaks Litigation - Complete Appellate Victory
On 6-14-2003 the Dallas Court of Appeals issued a complete victory to our client in its opinion in Dale Wamstad v. Rumore, The New Times d/b/a The Dallas Observer. Joseph Barbknecht and Brantley Saunders represented Ms. Rumore in the trial court and Mr. Saunders wrote the Appellate Brief. The Court not only reversed the trial Court's denial of our client's summary judgment but also Rendered Judgment against Plaintiff Dale Wamstad on this summary judgment issue involving defamation. This case was a fascinating battle of a case involving Dale Wamstad, the prior owner of both Del Frisco's Steakhouse and III Forks Steakhouse and his allegations of defamation against his ex-wife Lena Rumore, the Dallas Observer and others. The allegations in the case spanned forty years, two divorces, one shooting (Rumore shot Wamstad), kicking of a dog, screaming, threatening and fraud.

Sanctions Obtained Against Ex-Judge
On June 13, 2003, Kimberly Munson obtained $2,000 in sanctions against a former judge. The sanctions were awarded based on a finding of continued discovery abuse by the former judge and were forwarded on to the insurance carrier who is paying our fees.
